CROWDS have been evacuated from around Clifton Country Park as underwater search teams look for a missing teenager.

Dozens of emergency service vehicles were seen rushing to the scene, including police and ambulances.

The teenage boy was last seen in the River Irwell close to the park, which sits in-between Kearsley and Whitefield.

A Greater Manchester Police statement said: "At around 3.30pm on Tuesday 2 June 2020, police were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a teenage boy last seen in the River Irwell near to Clifton Country Park.

"Emergency services are in attendance along with underwater search teams who are searching the water and surrounding area.

"Please avoid the area where possible."
